Trash & Recycling

Lehigh Township is a recycling mandated community. The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) requires Lehigh Township residents and businesses to recycle.

Residents are required to recycle aluminum, glass, newsprint and yard waste (leaves, branches, etc.).

Businesses are required to recycle aluminum, corrugated paper, high grade office paper and yard waste (leaves, branches, etc.).

Single Stream Recycling
Did you know that if your recycling hauler is a single stream recycler, you may put ALL of your recycling in the same bin. You do NOT need to separate glass, plastic or paper. Please contact your recycling hauler to verify.

New Rules for Recycling Electronic Devices
The PA Department of Environmental Protection is advising consumers and businesses of new rules for recycling electronic devices that will take effect on January 24, 2013. Enacted in 2010, the Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act prohibits the disposal of covered devices (such as computers, laptops, monitors and televisions) with residential trash. More information on the covered device recycling act is available at, keyword: Electronics Recycling.
